Born in Kansas City, Missouri and raised in Independence, Missouri. Lloyd studied art in high school and college where he won numerous art awards and ribbons. In Missouri he studied under his artist mentor Andrew Thoman. He migrated to southern California.
During the early period he continued his passion for oi; painting and studied under California artist Bert Carter. Lloyd entered many art shows where he continued to win ribbons for his work, as well as selling his oil paintings to hundreds of clients throughout California, Arizona, Colorado and the Mid-West.
His work is enjoyed in private collections with some of the more notable collectors are Art Linkletter, Debbie Reynolds and Debbie Reynold’s mother. He later partnered with three other artist and opened a gallery in Laguna Beach, California. That same year opened a gallery and studio in Canoga Park, California where he taught oil painting as well.
Lloyd’s love of God’s beautiful earth creations inspire his paintings which start many times with on location watercolor sketches or photos and then back to the studio to capture God’s beauty.
In 2007 he moved to southwest Florida where Florida’s west coast now seem to influence his paintings. Living in Sarasota, Florida close to the beach and his son, daughter-in-law and granddaughters have invigorated him and he continues to paint. He soon will be attending numerous outdoor art shows.
I am continuously surrounded by nature’s splendor here in Southwest Florida. Whether it is boating, hiking, or enjoying the beach, I am constantly moved by nature’s beauty. My inspiration comes from the magnificence of both my home in Sarasota & Siesta Key area and my experiences traveling the globe. I hope that you enjoy my artwork as much as I have enjoyed creating it.
